This Privacy Policy explains what information LumoRead — an app operated by its parent company, Sable.com LLC ("we", "us") — collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the LumoRead app and related services. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
Account information you choose to provide (such as an email, display name, or profile photo). Preferences and activity (reading level, language, script, theme, streak and goal, reading history, and the quotes and words you save). Content you submit for adaptation. Technical and device information (app version, device type, OS, and diagnostic logs). We collect only what we need to run the Service.
To provide and operate the Service: remember your place and preferences, sync across your devices if you sign in, and generate the adaptations you request. To maintain security, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve features. To communicate important service or legal notices. We do not sell your personal information.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process data on these bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service); your consent (e.g., optional features); our legitimate interests (security and improvement, balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations.
Adaptations (translate, level, summarize, narrate) are generated by AI models running on our secure servers or vetted AI providers. Files you upload are processed transiently to produce your result and are not shared with other users. We do not use your private uploads to train AI models. API keys are never stored in the app.
We share data only with service providers ("sub-processors") who help us run the Service — such as cloud hosting, AI inference, crash reporting, and (for subscriptions) the App Store and Google Play — under contracts that require them to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Local data lives on your device until you delete it (Profile → Delete all data). Source files sent for adaptation are processed transiently and not retained longer than needed to return your result.
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (such as encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be processed in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
LumoRead is designed to be set up and operated by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children or build advertising profiles of them. A parent or guardian controls any child use and can review or delete data at any time. If you believe a child has provided us data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these directly in the app, or by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
The app may use limited on-device storage and privacy-respecting analytics or crash reporting to keep the Service working and to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
The Service may reference third-party content or stores. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we do not control.
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in the app or by other reasonable means, and the "last updated" date will change. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
